PENGARUH DUKUNGAN SUAMI TERHADAP MINAT WUS DALAM DETEKSI DINI CA SERVIK MELALUI PEMERIKSAAN IVA TEST

Abstract

Cervical cancer is also called the "silent killer" because the development of this cancer is very difficult to detect. The journey from viral infection to cancer takes a long time, about 10-20 years. This process is often not realized until it reaches the pre-cancerous stage without symptoms. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women living in low- and middle-income countries, accounting for 270,000 cases, more than 85% of these deaths are caused by cervical cancer. The incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia is 23.4 per 100,000 population with an average death of 13.9 per 100,000 population. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of husband's support on the interest of women of childbearing age (WUS) in performing a visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA). The research method used a quantitative approach with a cross sectional study design with a sample of 50 people. The instrument used in this study was filling out a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of this study obtained a p-value of 0.0001, which means that there is a significant relationship between husband's support and the interest of women of childbearing age in conducting the IVA test. Other analysis results obtained an Odd ratio (OR) of 8.7, meaning that respondents who received good support from their husbands had the opportunity to be interested in doing a good Iva test 8.7 times compared to respondents who received poor support from their husbands.
