Abstract

This research aims to develop multimedia learning of Natural Sciences on vibration and wave learning in Junior High School. The Research and Development (R&D) method was aply to this research to achieve that goal and the mode used is 4D. 4D development model consist of four phases: (1) define; (2) designs; (3) develop; and (4) disseminate. The research was conducted at SMP Brothers Pontianak Class VIII with 30 participants and six people for a validity test based on design experts, media experts, and science subject matter experts. Objectives instruments used closed questionnaires and student learning outcomes were analyzed qualitative and quantitative. Overall, the learning multimedia design is declared valid with an average of 80% and students gave positive responses after used multimedia. The learning outcomes have increased by 11.467. In the Wilcoxon test results involving 30 students, there is a significant difference with T > t table, which is 4.21 > 1.64, and the effect size is 0.79 at the modest effect category. Therefore, the multimedia learning of Natural Sciences Materials of vibration and waves for junior high schools can be applied to relevant materials in science learning in junior high schools.
