PERUBAHAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL DAN AKTIVITAS EKONOMI MASYARAKAT AKIBAT PENERAPAN JALAN SATU ARAH DI JALAN PANJAITAN KOTA GORONTALO

Abstract

Changes in Social Interaction and Community Economic Activities Resulting from the Implementation of a One-Way Traffic System on Jalan Panjaitan, Gorontalo City; Undergraduate Sociology Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo; Supervisors: Prof. Dr. Rauf A. Hatu, M.Si. and Dewinta Risky R. Hatu, S.Sos., M.Sos. This study aims to analyze the impact of the one-way traffic policy on the community's social and economic activities.
The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving community members, business owners, informal sector workers, road users, and parties associated with the implementation of the one-way traffic policy on Jalan Panjaitan, Gorontalo City. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The research results indicate that the implementation of the one-way traffic policy has made traffic flow on Jalan Panjaitan more orderly, smooth, and organized. However, it has simultaneously altered patterns of community access and mobility. Thus, it can be concluded that the one-way traffic policy represents a form of social change that occurs gradually; it not only affects the transportation system but also shapes changes in the social and economic activities of the community along Jalan Panjaitan, Gorontalo City.
