Abstract

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of teacher’s competence and students’ economic achievement at twelfth grade students of IPS major of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Selatan. The method of this research wasquantitative description with 37 students and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Questionnaire and documentation were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of teacher’s competence was 86.76 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ economic achievement was 81.75 (very good category).Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using partial ttestand helping SPSS version 22, the result showed ttable was less than tcalculated (1.68<2.212). It means, there is a significant influence of teacher’s competence and students’ economic achievement at twelfth grade students of IPS major of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola   Selatan.
