The Effect of The Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) Assisted Geogebra on Critical Thinking Ability and Mathematical Learning Motivation for Class VII Students of SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar
Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of PMRI assisted Geogebra on critical thinking ability and learning motivation in seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar. The reason for implementing PMRI assisted Geogebra is based on the weaknesses of PMRI that can be accommodated by the use of Geogebra, including students still had difficulty to make a model / mathematization and the need for visual aids to visualize. This research was a quasi-experimental. The population of this research were all students of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar. The sample in this research determined by simple random sampling. The sample of this research was VII C and VII D. Critical thinking skills and learning motivation data were collected by critical thinking skills test and learning motivation questionnarie. Data were analyzed by manova analysis assisted by SPSS 24.00 for Windows. The results of this research showed: 1) There were influenced of PMRI assisted Geogebra on critical thinking skills of grade VII SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar with grade of F = 20.196 and sig. = 0.000, 2) There were influenced of PMRI assisted Geogebra on learning motivation students of grade VII SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar with grade of F = 12.581 and sig. = 0.001, 3) There were influenced of PMRI assisted Geogebra on critical thinking skills and learning motivation students of grade VII SMP Negeri 9 Denpasar with grade of F F = 13.129b dan sig. = 0.000. Conclusion for this research is PMRI assisted Geogebra was influenced for critical thinking skills and learning motivation.
