EFETIVITAS PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN VISUALITATION AUDITORY KINESTETIC (VAK) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 8 PADANGSIDIMPUAN

Abstract

 

The aims of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using VAK learning model on students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic solid figure at the eighth grade student of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.  This research was conducted by applying experimental (one group pre test post test design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 271 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found:  (a) the average of using VAK learning model was 3.8 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic solid figure before using VAK learning model was 37.6 (poor category) and after using VAK learning model was 80.5 (very good category). Furthermore, by using N-Gain formulation the result showed G=0.68 (middle effective), it means using VAK learning model was effective on students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic solid figure at the eighth grade student of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.
